Follow My Star dominated a field of seven other 3-year-old fillies to easily win the $160,750 John Miller Memorial at Rosecroft last night.

Driven by Buddy Gilmour, Follow My Star tucked in along the rail, sitting third at the start of the race. Gilmour kept last year's 2-year-old filly pacing champion on the rail until being forced out at the half by H H Silk.

Follow My Star quickly passed the leaders in the backstretch before angling to the rail again.

Going into the final turn, Follow My Star was challenged by Dream Magic, but she pulled away to win by 2 1/2 lengths over Dream Magic. The filly paced the mile in 1:58 4/5 and returned $2.10.

The John Miller victory was Follow My Star's 15th in 16 career starts and increased her earnings to $907,911.

Earlier in the racing card, two elimination races were held for the $213,914 William E. Miller Memorial for 3-year-olds to be held Saturday.

Smartest Remark and Cash Asset won their respective divisions in an identical 1:58 2/5 for the mile.

In the first elimination, Smartest Remark, driven by Donald Irvine Jr., won with a strong stretch move. Cash Asset and driver Thomas Haughton easily took the second division in a wire-to-wire effort.
