CARLISLE, PA., JULY 30 -- The Washington Redskins announced today five veteran free agents, including four-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle Joe Jacoby, have agreed to contract terms.

Center Jeff Bostic, linebacker Rich Milot, strong safety Ken Coffey and punter Steve Cox also agreed to terms.

Defensive tackle Dave Butz, linebacker Mel Kaufman, running back Keith Griffin and cornerback Barry Wilburn remain unsigned. Veterans are due to report to training camp Saturday night.

"This has probably been our best camp in terms of getting guys signed," Coach Joe Gibbs said. "If we get the others done, it's going to make me feel awful good." He said a "couple problems" remain with the four unsigned players. Butz and Kaufman are farthest from signing.

"There has been no movement, nothing," said George Campbell, Kaufman's attorney . . .

Gibbs said the Redskins will undergo urinalysis drug testing next week, just as they did a year ago . . . Most of the veterans who reported to camp a week early have gone home for three days before returning this weekend. The rookies will scrimmage New England's rookies Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I. . . . Questions continue to come at Gibbs about former quarterback Joe Theismann's book. "A lot of people are writing books," Gibbs said. "The motivation behind those books is to sell books, so you sensationalize things to make money and sell books. I'm not going to read it. I'm not going to buy it."
