Iowa State defensive back Hughes Suffren was arrested in Ames this week on a third-degree theft charge, but will play in today's game with the University of Iowa. He was released from jail Thursday after posting a $575 bond. It was the second time Suffren has been arrested on a theft charge.

Suffren, a 6-foot-3, 193-pound senior from Bonner Springs, Kan., was arrested Wednesday after Ames police received what they said was a tip that Suffren had a stolen television in his apartment. The television was seized and matched one reported stolen from an Ames laundromat.

Suffren pleaded guilty last March to a similar charge in connection with a burglary at the home of former assistant coach Ed Lambert. Suffren was dismissed from the team after the plea, but was given a second chance this season.
