So Cozy and Leah Almahurst, two of the favorites, will race in separate elimination divisions of the $573,912 Breeders Crown on Saturday at Freestate Raceway.

Fifteen 2-year-old filly pacers entered the harness racing championship race, prompting the split. The final race on the card, worth $430,434, a record for a single mile dash at the Laurel track, will feature the top four finishers of each elimination division.

So Cozy already has earned $637,260 in her first season of racing and is considered the class of the 2-year-old fillies. The Jericho, N.Y.-based star has won her last seven races. John Campbell will drive So Cozy, who drew the No. 6 starting post in the second division.

Leah Almahurst, who drew the No. 1 position in the first elimination, has won four straight. She is out of Versailles, Ky., and will be driven by Bill Fahy.

Others in the first division are Same Set, Marcasite, Glider, Sea of Flames, Rindercella and Storm Tossed. In the second division, lightly raced Sabra Almahurst drew the No. 1 post, racing against Turn To Stone, Huna Buna, French Dressing, Precious Cammi, Conquered Quest and Three Mile Island.
