Talk about your big plays.

Walter Johnson and Bethesda-Chevy Chase put on a show yesterday well worth the price of any admission.

In addition to back-to-back kickoff returns for touchdowns, there were touchdown receptions of 75, 67, 67, 67 and 55 yards. For flavor, there was the reliable flanker pass for a score, a mind-boggling 47-minute third period and a total of 67 passes.

Just before darkness, Walter Johnson's Tyrone Fitch caught a slant-in pass and ran 67 yards for his third touchdown to put his team ahead to stay as it outlasted B-CC, 33-20, in a Montgomery AA league game at Walter Johnson.

B-CC's Rick Fiscina, who came into the game with a crew of tough receivers and nine touchdown passes to his credit, completed 19 of 44 passes for 163 yards and was intercepted three times.

But he did lull the hosts to sleep on one play. He set up his opponents perfectly with a couple of quick passes to flanker Eric Thadey for short yardage. With the score tied at 13, Fiscina hit Thadey with a quick lateral pass. Thadey stepped back and threw to end Geoff Smith, all alone downfield. The play covered 75 yards as Smith scored his eighth touchdown of the season for a 20-13 lead.

But this day would belong to Fitch and the Wildcats. Fitch, who had earlier scored on a pass play that covered 67 yards and gone 89 yards with a kickoff return, set up at his usual flanker position on a third and eight situation at his 45. Jeff Glassman threw a perfect floater that Fitch caught along the sideline and took into the end zone. Carlos Machado's kick made it 20-20 with 5:30 left in the period.

With three minutes gone in the last quarter, the Glassman-Fitch combination worked again. On third and three at Walther Johnson's 33, Fitch caught a slant-in pass, picked up a nice block, juked two defenders and sped the distance for the score. The kick failed but the hosts led, 26-20.

After stopping the Barons (3-2) at midfield, the Wildcats used more than four minutes off the clock before Hing Yip Yim ended a seven-play drive with a five-yard touchdown run to put the game out of reach with 2:40 left.Bethesda-Chevy Chase (3-2) 7 0 13 0 20 Walter Johnson (3-2) 7 0 13 13 33
