Henderson Mosley ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as 14th-ranked H.D. Woodson scored 19 first-quarter points en route to a 47-0 win over visiting Interhigh rival Cardozo yesterday.

The win improved Woodson's record to 3-1 overall, 1-0 in league play. Cardozo dropped to 1-3, 0-1.

Mosley, a 6-foot-3 senior quarterback, passed for 122 yards and rushed for 63 as Woodson compiled more than 300 yards total offense.

Woodson's defense was overwhelming, limiting highly regarded Cardozo quarterback Alan Johnson to 18 yards passing on an eight-for-18 performance. He was intercepted four times.

Warriors defensive back Anthony Ford picked off Johnson's second pass of the game and raced 47 yards untouched into the end zone to stake his team to the lead with 6:21 left in the first quarter.

Mosley, who scored 23 points, kicked the extra point for a 7-0 lead.

On his team's next possession, Mosley passed twice and ran three times during a nine-play, 68-yard drive. Mosley's final run in the drive was from three yards out for his first rushing touchdown of the game. The conversion failed and the Warriors led, 13-0, with 4:01 left in the first quarter.

The Woodson defense stopped Cardozo's next drive and the Warriors offense continued to have its way when it got the ball back. Mosley again used a multi-dimensional offense, passing three times and running twice. His last pass of the drive was a 20-yard scoring pass to Jeff Taylor.

The extra point was blocked, but the rout was on as Woodson led 19-0.

"We were able to score because the offensive line was blocking so well," said Mosley. "We were able to move the ball pretty easily."

The Warriors defense struck again. Midway through the second quarter, Ford scored again. With Cardozo near its own goal line, Johnson fumbled and Ford picked up the errant ball, running one yard for the touchdown.

Woodson went into the locker room at halftime ahead, 25-0.

"We were able to control the line of scrimmage, and we did it on both sides of the ball," said defensive end Austin Roberts. "We also opened some big holes on offense and we were able to control the action."

Woodson opened the second half the same way it ended the first half. The Warriors defense stopped Cardozo's offense and when the Warriors took possession, they once again methodically moved downfield. Mosley guided the Warriors on an eight-play, 65-yard march.

His second rush of the drive produced the touchdown as he ran into the end zone from one yard out. He then raced around right end for the two-point conversion to make it 33-0. Mosley later scored on a seven-yard run. Cardozo (1-3) 0 0 0 0 0 H.D. Woodson(3-1) 19 6 14 8 47
