A team from Vienna, Va., beat a team from Bridgewater, N.J., 3-2, Sunday in Las Vegas to win the national title in 4.5 level of the USTA Volvo tennis league. Stacey Colby and Sharon Monde won in singles and Dee Tice and Pat Ballard won the doubles.
And in the 2.5 level for men in Tucson, the Bethesda-based team, French Kiss, defeated Texas, 4-1. The Bethesda team, made up of six cancer research specialists at the National Institutes of Health, won five matches without a defeat. Jean-Pierre Kinet and Philippe Arnaud won their singles matches. The top-ranked doubles team of Uldis Potapovs and Paul Basset and the second flight team of Lauren Miribel and Jacques Benichou won, too . . .
