Coolidge ended a three-game losing streak yesterday, coming from behind to defeat Cardozo, 14-12, in an Interhigh West game at Cardozo's Sal Hall Stadium.
Sean Chisley led Coolidge (1-3, 1-0) by scoring touchdowns on a 10-yard run and a 15-yard pass reception from quarterback Daymon Anderson. Chisley rushed for 69 yards on 20 carries.
Cardozo (2-4, 0-1) dominated early, scoring twice in the second quarter for a 12-8 halftime lead. The first Cardozo score came when quarterback Allen Johnson ran 11 yards for a touchdown.
Moments later, Cardozo took over at the Coolidge 47.s the endzone. A 38-yard pass from Johnson to wide receiver Jerome Crawford set up the touchdown. Johnson threw an 11-yard pass to Crawford for the score.
Cooolidge responded from its own 36. With 1:05 remaining in the half, Chisley took a handoff from Anderson and ran up the middle 10 yards for the touchdown.
Coolidge scored the winning points in the third quarter. Beginning from their 41, the Colts drove to the Clerks 4. After being pushed back to the 15, Anderson threw a scoring pass to Chisley with less than four minutes remaining in the quarter. Coolidge (1-3) 0 8 6 0 14 Cardozo (2-4) 0 12 0 0 12
