Monica McTeague's two goals helped Virginia beat Maryland, 3-1, in the final of the Maryland Invitational women's soccer tournament yesterday at College Park.
Ann Marciniak scored for Maryland (7-7) but Virginia led at halftime, 2-1.
In Saturday's semifinals, Maryland beat Navy, 4-0, and Virginia beat George Washington, 2-0.

Mike Dee's goal enabled Navy's men to win in Philadelphia. His goal came off a pass from Mark Hernandez in front of the goal. Navy is 7-6-1.

In Syracuse, N.Y., UDC (3-4) got its first shutout this season. John Etchi scored in the second period on an 18-footer down the middle on a cross-over pass from Mario Rojas. Zubuiwta Gurupira scored the second goal from close-in on another assist from Rojas. Lemoyne is 5-4.
Maryland beat Illinois, 5-0, but lost to Texas, 3-2, and Auburn, 3-2, on the second and last day of the Wake Forest Four Plus One (four singles, one doubles) tournament.
Maryland finished fourth with a 1-2 round robin record. Texas defeated Wake Forest in the final and won with a 4-0 record.
