Georgetown Prep extended its winning streak to 19 games yesterday by defeating Episcopal, 24-6, in an Interstate Athletic Conference game at Episcopal.

The victory gives the seventh-ranked Little Hoyas (6-0, 3-0 in the league) sole possession of first place in the IAC ahead of Episcopal, now 3-3, 3-1.

It didn't take long for Georgetown Prep to prove worthy of its ranking. The Little Hoyas scored only two minutes into the opening quarter when junior Tripp Shreves kicked a 15-yard field goal to put Prep ahead, 3-0.

Nor did it take long for the Little Hoyas to strike again. On the second play of Prep's second possession, quarterback Marc Richards pitched right to Gary Scruggs, who broke two tackles and ran 61 yards for Georgetown Prep's first touchdown. Shreves' extra-point put the Hoyas up 10-0.

With about three minutes remaining in the first half, Richards found Brian Haley in the left corner of the end zone for the first of two Haley scores and a 17-0 halftime lead. Haley caught five passes for 36 yards and two touchdowns.Georgetown Prep (6-0)
