Templar Hill heads a field of seven 3-year-olds entered in today's $50,000-added Annapolis Stakes at Laurel Race Course.

First-race post time for the holiday card will be 10:30 a.m., with the 10th and final race set for 2:50 p.m.

Coming off a one-length victory in Laurel's Tri County Stakes 12 days ago, Templar Hill was the 6-to-5 overnight favorite for today's one-mile race. Principal challengers to the Paul Seefeldt-trained colt are expected to be Baldski's Choice -- who took a four-length lead in the Tri County before Templar Hill ran him down in the deep stretch -- and out-of-towners Conquer and Present Value.

Conquer, a colt trained by national leader Wayne Lukas, has been unplaced in two stakes tries, but didn't finish worse than third in six New York allowance races. His season's earnings of $96,840 are second in the field to Templar Hill's $364,096.

Conquer was only a half-length behind third-place Templar Hill in the Sept. 7 Jerome Handicap at Belmont Park, but he carried 11 fewer pounds; today, each is assigned 122.

Present Value, a Canadian colt trained by Roger Attfield, has won two consecutive races and seven of 12 this year. He has enough speed to press Baldski's Choice, which could enhance the come-from-behind chances of Templar Hill and jockey Greg Hutton.

Completing the field are American Dream, Lil Fappi and Stand In.
