IOWA CITY, DEC. 5 -- Jeff Moe scored 24 points and Bill Jones added 20 as No. 6 Iowa set a school record for points scored tonight in a 124-88 Amana Classic championship victory over Cal-Irvine.

Iowa (5-0) passed the 100 mark with 10:16 left in the game on its way to breaking the record set in 1970. B.J. Armstrong with 18 points led Iowa; Al Lorenzen added 16 and Roy Marble 15.

Jacksonville led from tip-off to buzzer to defeat Navy, 69-64, in the consolation game. The loss was the third straight for Navy (1-3).

The game was the first between the schools. The Dolphins raised their record to 2-2.

The Midshipmen missed 14 of 26 foul shots, including some crucial opportunities in the closing minutes of the game.

Jacksonville, of the Sun Belt Conference, led by 13 points midway through the first half. Navy rallied late in the game, and with just 1:45 remaining, the Midshipmen had reduced their deficit to 61-56.

Derric Turner, a 6-foot-7 senior, scored 19 points and had a career-high 16 rebounds to pace Navy. Cliff Rees scored 22 and 6-9 freshman Darren Morningstar had 14.
