MONTGOMERY, ALA., DEC. 25 -- Maryland's Azizuddin Abdur-Ra'oof pulled the Gray into contention with a 26-yard touchdown reception 6 1/2 minutes from the end, and his side won, 12-10, today when Teddy Garcia of Northeast Louisiana kicked a 44-yard field goal with 47 seconds left in the 50th annual Blue-Gray all-star football game.

Garcia's winning kick, plus another 44-yarder that got the Gray on the board after it trailed, 10-0, at the half, came six days after he made the deciding extra point in Northeast Louisiana's victory over Marshall in the NCAA Division I-AA championship game.

Chris Gaines of Vanderbilt made 18 tackles for the winners and was voted most valuable player in this event for top senior players whose schools were not invited to bowls.

"I came into the game with that goal in my mind," he said.
