NEW ORLEANS, DEC. 27 -- The two veterans of the worst of times for the New Orleans Saints enjoyed the best of times today.

"You realize we've won more games in a row than we ever won in a season before this," tackle Stan Brock said.

"I feel great about it. Just great," said cornerback Dave Waymer.

Morten Andersen kicked four first-half field goals and Dalton Hilliard led a three-touchdown second half as the Saints closed out the team's most successful season with a 33-24 victory over the Green Bay Packers.

The Saints, twice 8-8 but never a winner in 20 previous NFL seasons, go into their first playoff game with a 12-3 record and nine straight victories, the longest active winning streak in the NFL.

Brock and Waymer were rookies in 1980 when the Saints set an NFL season record by losing 15 games.

The Saints trailed, 17-12, at halftime, but Rueben Mayes ran three yards in the third quarter that put the Saints ahead for the first time at 19-17. Green Bay 14 3 7 0 24 New Orleans 9 3 14 7 33 First Quarter
