TOLEDO, DEC. 28 -- For the first time since the 1981-82 season, Navy lost its fifth straight game, falling, 60-42, to Toledo tonight in the first round of the Toledo Blade Classic at Centennial Hall.

The Midshipmen (1-5) never quite got into sync, scoring only 15 points in the first half.

The Rockets jumped out to an 18-2 lead, sparked by Fred King's two three-point baskets. King finished with 12 points.

Toledo (6-1) will play Butler in the championship game tomorrow. Butler upset 16th-ranked Iowa State, 78-76. Navy will meet Iowa State at 6.

Navy was led by Byron Hopkins' 12 points. Starting center Derric Turner, who is among the nation's top five rebounders, pulled down 14 rebounds tonight. He is averaging 13.2 rebounds a game.
