Crossland defeated Mount St. Michaels (N.Y.), 68-62, in the final of the St. Benedictine tournament in Richmond. Mount Hebron's girls cruised past Largo, 54-31, to capture the IAABO tournament. McNamara knocked off McCorriston, 48-44, to win the McCorriston (N.J.) Catholic Classic.
Dunbar defeated H.D. Woodson, 80-72, to win the boys Blair IAABO Invitational for a second straight year. St. Albans beat Lake Placid (Fla.), 64-55, to capture the Holiday Hoopla Classic in Vero Beach.
Flint Hill beat Miami Senior, 72-61, winning its third consecutive King Cotton Classic in Pine Bluff, Ark. Annandale defeated Dunnellon, 73-57, to win the Rainbow Classic in Florida. Madison beat Paint Branch, 63-57, to win the Hayfield tournament. Mount Vernon ran past Mackin, 98-84, to win its own tournament. In girls play, Woodbridge won the Gar-Field tournament, W.T. Woodson captured the West Potomac tournament and Lake Braddock won the Warhawk Classic.
Previously undefeated DeMatha lost two games in the Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Landon lost all three of its games in the Hayfield tournament. Seneca Valley dropped all three of its games in the Mount Vernon tournament.
Previously unbeaten Coolidge lost two games in the Las Vegas Holiday Classic to fall to 8-2. Eastern and Wilson both lost twice in the Mount Vernon tournament. Theodore Roosevelt also dropped a pair of games in the Hayfield tournament. Wilson lost a 15-point lead and a 59-57 decision to H.D. Woodson in the girls Blair IAABO tournament final.
Two previously unbeaten teams, Lee and Washington-Lee, lost their first games. Lee dropped a 70-60 decision to champion Madison at Hayfield. Washington-Lee was upset by Wakefield, 64-62, in the final of the Arlington tournament. Lake Braddock fell to Myers Park, 75-73, in the first round of the Celriver (S.C.) Classic. Lee's girls suffered their first defeat, losing to Lake Braddock, 55-43.
