Michael Thompson scored 22 points, Byron Scott scored 21 and Magic Johnson had 14 points, 13 assists and 8 rebounds for the Lakers. The Spurs, outrebounded by 48-29, were led by Alvin Robertson's 20 points.
76ers 122, Suns 114:
Cliff Robinson scored 31 points, Charles Barkley scored 28 and the 76ers defeated Phoenix in Philadelphia to end their five-game losing streak.
Eddie Johnson led the Suns with 27 points. Phoenix forward James Bailey was ejected with 7:41 to play after getting into a shoving match with Philadelphia's Tim McCormick.
Celtics 107, Jazz 99:
Larry Bird scored 28 points and Danny Ainge scored 20, including 18 on three-point goals, to lead Boston to victory in Salt Lake City.
Rockets 117, Mavericks 107:
In Houston, Akeem Olajuwon matched his season-high with 31 points, Purvis Short scored 25 points and Eric Floyd had 23 points and 11 assists in Houston's fourth straight victory, which ended Dallas' five-game winning streak.
Mark Aguirre finished with 31 points to lead the Mavericks, who played most of the second half without Rolando Blackman. He left favoring his left knee after a collision.
Cavaliers 122, Nuggets 101:
Reserve Brad Daugherty scored 25 points and Cleveland routed Denver in Richfield, Ohio.
