Kenny Wills scored 28 points to lead Catholic over Upsala last night in men's basketball at CU, 95-84.

Upsala (5-9) edged within 40-39 after halftime but got no closer as Wills' five points led a 9-0 run by the Cardinals (9-5). He added six in a clinching 12-3 run from 81-76.

Bowie St. 84, St. Paul's 75:

Mike Sinclair's 37 points and Mike Boyd's 20 led the Bulldogs (3-13, 3-10 CIAA) over their hosts (6-9, 4-5) in Lawrenceville, Va.

St. Mary's 74, Marymount 70:

The Saints made a 14-2 run opening the second half and held on in St. Mary's City, Md.

Charles 112, Howard CC 80:

Clarence Ball had 40 points and 19 rebounds to lead the Hawks (9-4), at home in La Plata. Howard (6-10) was led by Rich Cross, 25. Bowie Women Lose

Rene Jones scored 44 points as St. Paul's defeated CIAA guest Bowie State, 79-69. Demetress Belk had 21 for Bowie . . . Roxanne Dawes made six of six foul shots in the stretch as Gallaudet (3-9), at home, beat Notre Dame (Md.), 55-47, to end a six-game losing streak . . . In Arlington, Teresa Owens' 18 points led Marymount (11-3) past St. Mary's, 90-22.
