Richard McLean and Lyndon DeBellotte scored 25 points each to lead the University of the District of Columbia to its seventh straight victory last night, 77-67, over C.W. Post in New York.
McLean, a 6-foot-8 forward, hit 10 of 14 field goal attempts and grabbed 12 rebounds and DeBellotte sank 10 of 12 free throws for the Firebirds (13-3), who trailed, 37-25, at halftime.
John Joseph led C.W. Post (7-9) with 19 points and 10 rebounds.
VMI 69, Furman 60: In Lexington, Va., Damon Williams scored 21 points as the Keydets (4-10, 1-4 in Southern Conference) ended a six-game losing streak. VMI hit 15 straight free throws in the last four minutes and was 20 of 26 overall.
The Paladins (10-2, 4-2) cut the gap to 58-52 with 1:42 remaining, but the Keydets scored six straight points to stretch their lead to 64-52 with 54 seconds left.
Baltimore 90, Montgomery-Rockville 84: Forward Larry Cooke scored 21 points to lead Baltimore Community College (8-6) to a home victory. The Knights (8-8) were led by guard Jeff Burdette's 18 points and Steve McNerney 15.
Montgomery-Germantown 92, Catonsville 64: At Catonsville, center Mike Spieler scored 33 points and guard Chris Doneski had 25 to lead the Gryphons (10-5) to their seventh consecutive victory.
Western Maryland 78, Gallaudet 76: Todd Staub's two foul shots with 18 seconds left in overtime lifted the Green Terrors (6-9) to victory in Westminster, Md. Brian Bippus led Gallaudet (4-11) with 26 points.
Marymount 97, Lancaster Bible 78: Mike Saale scored 26 of his 32 points in the first half to lead the Saints (8-5) at home.
