Sugar Ray Leonard's lawyer, Michael Trainer, said yesterday there are "no plans for a second fight" between Leonard and Marvelous Marvin Hagler. Trainer said Leonard has not expressed a desire to fight Hagler again.

Leonard, who upset Hagler on a split decision last April, was said in Wednesday's USA Today to be contemplating another comeback. "I'm almost 32, and I don't have much time," he was quoted as saying.

"I'm sure he thinks about it," Trainer said yesterday. "There's no question in my mind that he thinks about it. But to jump from there to say there is something going on is not correct. There's nothing to it.

"When he {Leonard} came back to fight Hagler {last year}, he really didn't know what he was getting involved in in terms of work," Trainer said. "Down deep, I think he thought it was going to be easier than it was getting into shape. Now he knows what has to be done, and that's going to make it a more difficult decision {to fight again}.

"Has he thought about it? Yes. Does that mean he has indicated that he wants to fight? He has not. And I'm not so sure he ever will."

Leonard, who was traveling yesterday, could not be reached for comment.
