Cincinnati Bengals -- Rookie C Paul Jetton underwent surgery to repair a broken finger and could be out up to six weeks, the club said. Jetton had the procedure performed on a finger that has been broken for a week. He previously had failed to seek proper care for the finger, Coach Sam Wyche said. Also, club released K Steve Willis.

Detroit Lions -- Released DE Bob Beemer.

Indianapolis Colts -- QB Gary Hogeboom will sit out Saturday's preseason game against the Green Bay Packers because of a strained right elbow, Coach Ron Meyer said. Jack Trudeau will start; rookie Chris Chandler will play the second half. Also, announced LB Micah Moon retired; released DB Lyle Pickens.

Kansas City Chiefs -- Announced DE Bob Standifer retired. Released DE Wes Dove.

New Orleans Saints -- Cut free agent WR Marvin Cephus.

San Diego Chargers -- WR Al Williams, a star last season on San Diego's replacement team, was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for an unspecified conditional draft choice. Also, OL John Clay, acquired along with draft choices from the Raiders for tackle Jim Lachey, will miss at least a week due to a hip flexor injury. Signed former Denver Broncos LB Ken Woodward.

San Francisco 49ers -- Signed LB Victor Harmon, P Ron Keller. Waived WR Ken Margerum.
