The Southeastern Conference plans to begin an aggressive campaign to woo additional schools to its 10-member fold, league officials said.

Auburn football coach and athletic director Pat Dye has mentioned Arkansas as one of the schools the conference would like to talk with, although Arkansas has not been contacted.

"The university is quite happy with the {Southwest Conference}. No one is looking to leave the SWC," said Arkansas spokesman Jim Treadway.

SEC expansion committee chairman Gerald Turner said the focus of the effort is to enhance the SEC's television viability as well as build a stronger conference in the field.

Other teams mentioned by Dye are Florida State, South Carolina and Miami (Fla.). . . .
