Double Bunctious won the $81,650 Davona Dale Handicap at Laurel Race Course yesterday after Noblest Heart was disqualified.

Double Bunctious's jockey, Edgar Prado, had to stand up and restrain his mount along the rail when Noblest Heart, ridden by Joe Rocco, swept past him midway through the final turn. Rocco "came over on me too quickly and I had to take up," Prado said.

Noblest Heart opened a three-length lead early in the stretch, but barely held off Double Bunctious to win by a head. She ran the 1 1/8 miles in 1:50 4/5.

Ismelda finished third, three lengths back, and Tactile, the 19-10 favorite, finished last in the field of seven fillies and mares.

Belmont Park: In Elmont, N.Y., Charon took the lead with a half-mile left and romped to a nine-length victory in the $287,500 Coaching Club American Oaks.

Winning jockey Craig Perret also won Saturday's Belmont feature, the Tidal, on With Approval.

Crowned finished second, 5 1/4 lengths ahead of Paper Money. Seaside Attraction, a Wayne Lukas-trained entry with Paper Money, was sixth in the field of seven.

Charon ran the 1 1/4 miles in 2:02 3/5 and paid $2.60.

Woodbine: Kinghaven Farms won its second straight Queen's Plate with a gray colt when Izvestia scored a record-setting 13-length victory in Toronto. Ridden by Don Seymour, the 3-year-old ran 1 1/4 miles in 2:01 4/5 to better the stakes record of 2:02 set by Victoria Park (1960) and equaled by Regal Embrace (1978).

With Approval won last year, also with Seymour in the saddle.
