The University of Maryland yesterday released its men's basketball schedule, which includes 14 home games and a Christmastime trip to the ECAC Holiday Festival in Madison Square Garden.

The Terps evenly split the 28-game schedule between ACC and nonconference games, including a home opener with Towson State and a late-season date with American.

"We've got a good mix with this schedule," Maryland Coach Gary Williams said. "I think it's important for this area's basketball community that the local teams play one another."

Maryland will meet Boston College in the ACC-Big East Challenge in Richmond on Dec. 3 and will be joined by Brigham Young, South Carolina and Rutgers in the ECAC Holiday Festival, Dec. 27-29.
