Orlando Magic -- Agreed to a five-year contract with Dennis Scott, who becomes the first NBA draft choice to do so. Scott, a swing man from Georgia Tech, was the fourth player taken. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

AAU Junior Olympics -- In Clearwater, Fla., Cydnee Randall of Washington and the Eastern Branch Striders club won the 3,000-meter race walk for age 17-18 girls in 19:52.
