Sharon Briggs (Montgomery Village) defeated fellow club member Cami Berher, 1-up, to advance to the championship flight final. The other four flight finals will start at 2.
In the first flight semifinals, Dina Saine (Springfield) beat Joan Craver (Montgomery), 4 and 3, and Wendy Stewart (Belle Haven) beat Malsun Lee (Indian Springs), 3 and 2.
In the second flight, Kim Overmiller (Norbeck) beat Su Kim (Bretton Woods), 2 and 1, setting up a title match against Nancy Graves (Army Navy), who edged Kay Gunson (Bretton Woods), 3 and 2.
Rose Marie Vargo (Norbeck), who had a third flight bye yesterday, will face Vida Olinick (Kenwood), a 4 and 2 victor over Libby Kinnard (Army Navy). Lori Ledbetter (Lakewood), who won on the 19th hole over Pat Eisen, will meet Marlene Frazier (Montgomery) for the fourth flight title. Frazier beat Annette Le-Seck-Sioe, 2 up.
Moss Beecroft of Newport News posted a two-under-par for the 11 holes he needed to beat Maurice Oakes of Chatham, 8 and 7, and Arman Fletcher of Roanoke, one down at the turn, captured four holes on the final nine to top Frank Summers of Staunton, 3 and 2, at The Homestead's Cascades Course in Hot Springs.

Former NCAA champion Pat Hurst of San Jose State made a two-foot birdie putt on the 17th hole to defeat French Amateur champion Delphine Bourson, 2-up, in Summit, N.J. In today's 36-hole championship, she will meet Stephanie Davis of Bainbridge Island, Wash., who beat Karen Noble, 4 and 2.
