Arizona -- The NCAA restored eligibility for walk-on DB McCann Utu after initially penalizing him because he'd been paid for posing nude for Playgirl magazine.

Maryland -- Wayne Bristol, 6-2 G from High Point High School, is expected to make verbal commitment soon. Neither he nor his coach, Ernie Welch, could be reached for comment.

Virginia -- Freshman soccer G Tom Henske (shoulder) will miss the rest of the season.

Hawaii -- Suspended sophomore RB Jamal Farmer indefinitely for missing practices.

Georgetown-Marymount -- Georgetown men's team outshot Marymount (2-3) by 34-5 en route to 5-0 win. Tom Dillow, Peter Couhig, Todd Colonna, Tim Keegan and Todd Kinney scored for the Hoyas (2-3). Junior G Bryan Gowdy became Georgetown's all-time shutout leader, surpassing John Janenda (1985-88).

American Professional Soccer League -- San Francisco Bay Blackhawks, 1-0 winners over Los Angeles Heat in Western Soccer League final Wednesday, will play the Maryland Bays for title, Sept. 22 in Boston.
