Arkansas (1-1) moved from its 36-yard line to the 5 in 47 seconds. With Arkansas out of timeouts and 12 seconds left, Ron Dickerson took a pitchout and was hit at the 1 by Godwin and Mitchell. Mississippi is 2-1.

Colorado 29, Texas 22: In Austin, Tex., 75,882 watched Eric Bieniemy score three touchdowns, two on short-yardage runs in the fourth quarter that helped 20th-ranked Colorado (2-1-1) overcome an eight-point deficit and beat 22nd-ranked Texas (1-1).

TCU 31, Oklahoma State 21: In Fort Worth, Jeff Wilkinson kicked a tie-breaking 17-yard field goal with 30 seconds left and Greg Evans added a 41-yard interception return for a touchdown moments later.

Rice 31, Northwestern 14: Donald Hollas threw for two touchdowns and ran for one in Houston as Northwestern lost its 14th straight game.

Texas A&M 40, North Texas 8: Lance Pavlas threw for three first-half touchdowns for the second week in a row, leading the 12th-ranked Aggies' easy victory in College Station. They are 3-0 for the first time since 1984.
