CHARGES FILED: A criminal complaint was filed against three men who allegedly attacked San Diego Chargers NT Joe Phillips last month in Mission Beach, Calif. Phillips, 27, suffered a skull fracture, broken nose, three broken ribs and a broken facial bone near an eye. He had surgery and may miss the season.
BARGAIN HUNTING: Bronco Blake Ezor, who rushed for 82 yards in his NFL debut last week, is scheduled to appear in a Michigan court Monday to answer misdemeanor charges of retail fraud. He is accused of switching the price tag on a compact disk player he sought to purchase, a $100 difference. Ezor, 24, denied the allegations and said he plans to sue the department store.
