Indiana -- Six-foot-9 Alan Henderson of Indianapolis Brebeuf, considered one of the nation's top high school seniors, announced he would play basketball for the Hoosiers.

Navy -- DB Bill Yancey is ECAC Division I-A defensive football player of week for his three interceptions and touchdown-saving tackle in Saturday's win over Toledo. In water polo, Midshipmen beat Brown, 12-9, to capture the Eastern Championships and an NCAA tournament berth.

Maryland -- Water polo team won NCAA Eastern Division II, defeating George Washington in overtime, 11-10, in final in Williamstown, Mass.

Mary Washington -- Men's and women's cross-country teams won NCAA Division III regional titles on weekend and will compete in Saturday's nationals in Grinnell, Iowa.


Middle Atlantic PGA -- Vinny Giles, Wiffy Cox and Leo Steinbrecher inducted into MAPGA Hall of Fame. Bruce Lehnhard, this year's Virginia Signet Open winner, named MAPGA player of year.
