Soccer -- In NCAA women's championships, No. 8 Connecticut edged No. 1 Santa Clara, 2-1, to advance to today's final against four-time defending champion North Carolina, which beat Colorado College, 2-1. In men's Division III final, Dan Isidor scored on a penalty kick as Glassboro State defeated Ohio Wesleyan, 2-1, after four overtimes in Delaware, Ohio. Isidor, who kicked last for Glassboro (20-3-2), broke a 3-3 tie in penalty kicks to give the Profs the title.
Golden State Warriors -- Re-signed G Bart Kofoed, five days after waiving him, to replace Mitch Richmond, who went on the injured list with a broken left thumb knuckle.
ARCA Atlanta Journal 500K -- Charlie Glotzbach overcame a penalty to hold off newcomer Dorsey Schroeder in winning race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
Good Life Games -- In 65-69 division of competition in Clearwater, Fla., Newlie Hewson of Washington won the 1,500-meter race-walk in 9:13, 1,500-meter run in 6:15 and 800-meter run in 3:05.
