A SHAKEUP: A 5-2 loss to Montreal Monday night, their 14th straight defeat, tied a Nordiques club record and dropped them to 3-17-3 for nine points -- tying them with Toronto for the worst record in the NHL.
Yesterday the Nordiques shuttled three players, including Owen Nolan, the first pick in the entry draft last June, to their American Hockey League team.
Nolan, who has been bothered by back spasms, is going to Halifax on a 14-day rehabilitation assignment. LW Scott Pearson, acquired last week, and LW Everett Sanipass also were sent down.
Joining the Nordiques for tonight's game in Hartford will be Cs Jamie Baker and Stephane Morin and RW Ken Quinney, all of whom were recalled from Halifax.
MOVES: The Vancouver Canucks recalled rookie D Don Gibson from the minors to replace injured Jim Agnew. The team assigned C Rob Murphy (knee injury) and RW Jay Mazur (rib problem) to Milwaukee for conditioning. . . .
The Whalers called G Daryl Reaugh up from the Springfield Indians and sent G Kay Whitmore and D Jergus Baca to the AHL team.
