THREEPEAT: The Flyers lost their third goaltender, Pete Peeters, early in the third period of Wednesday's 5-4 victory over Pittsburgh. Peeters was replaced by Bruce Hoffort after being dazed in a collision with Kevin Stevens. Flyers D Gord Murphy tripped Stevens, who crashed into Peeters. Philadelphia previously lost Ron Hextall and Ken Wregget. . . .

AND SO ON: The Nordiques broke a 14-game losing streak, third longest in NHL history, by tying Hartford, 4-4, on Wednesday night. It was the first point for Quebec since Oct. 20, when it beat the Red Wings, 5-3. However, the tie extended the Nordiques' winless streak to a club-record 15, breaking the mark of 14 they set last year. They have been outscored 69-27 in those 15 games. . . . The Canucks' 4-1 win over the Blackhawks on Wednesday ended Chicago's eight-game unbeaten streak and seven-game road unbeaten streak.
