MISSING MAGIC:

Lakers G Magic Johnson will miss tonight's game in Seattle because of a sprained middle finger on his right hand.

Listed as day-to-day and wearing a protective splint, Johnson didn't play in the Lakers' victory over Golden State Sunday night. Larry Drew started for him and had 14 assists in 21 minutes.

BULLET BACK:

Golden State G Sarunas Marciulionis sprained his left knee in that Sunday game, has gone on the injured list, and the Warriors are replacing him with G Larry Robinson, the rookie who began with the Bullets, including an opening-game start. With Marciulonis likely to miss about two weeks, Robinson (6.7 ppg in 10 games before Washington waived him Dec. 10) comes in on a 10-day contract.

LESS HEAT:

Miami placed C Rony Seikaly (right knee damage, out an expected two to three weeks) on the injured list and re-signed 7-foot-2 Alan Ogg to a 10-day contract. Ogg, originally signed by Miami as a free agent Aug. 16, was on the injured list with periostitis, an inflammation of connective bone tissue, until the Heat waived him Dec. 3.

CORRECTION:

The length of Wilt Chamberlain's tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers was incorrectly stated in yesterday's editions. He played 14 years in the NBA, 3 1/2 with the 76ers.
