BASEBALL New York Yankees -- CF Roberto Kelly, one of few bright spots in dismal New York Yankees 1990 season, tripled his salary when he agreed to one-year contract worth $900,000. Kelly, 26, hit .285 last season with 15 homers, 61 RBI and 42 stolen bases, third best in the American League. He became the second Yankee to play in all 162 games, joining Roy White, who did it in 1973. California Angels -- RHP Mark Eichhorn agreed to one-year deal for $625,000, a $352,500 raise. Eichhorn was 2-5 with 13 saves last season in 60 relief appearances. RHP Jeff Robinson agreed to one-year deal with club option for 1992. Robinson pitched for Yankees last season and was 3-6 with a 3.45 ERA in 50 relief appearances and four starts. Boston Red Sox -- RHP John Dopson settled for $265,000, same salary he earned last season. He had 2.04 ERA in four games in 1990. San Francisco Giants -- RHP Kelly Downs (3-2, 3.43 ERA in 13 games) agreed to $525,000 salary, a raise of $100,000 over 1990 pay, and OF Mike Kingery (.295 average with no homers and 24 RBI in 207 at-bats) agreed to deal for $362,500, a raise of $187,500.

Radford is 4-0 in Big South Conference, also its best start ever. Purnell, 37, is a former assistant to Lefty Driesell at Maryland.
