Of all the calls to The Post's Sports department over the years, this had to be the only one to ask a floral question: What is the flower featured in the official Nagano logo?

Take a closer look. Each of the petals of what organizers call the Snowflower are "dynamic athletes arranged in a petal formation, combined with the hexagonal shape of a snowflake," according to the Nagano Olympic Winter Games Official Guide Book.

We compared each petal to the official sport logos for Nagano, and here is our best guess, starting the right and moving clockwise: snowboarding, figure skating, Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping and speedskating. WHAT TIME IS IT? There is a 14-hour difference between Japan and Eastern Standard Time, therefore many Olympic events take place overnight or early in the day on Washington area clocks. All schedules we present are in Eastern Standard Time, beginning at midnight.
