Stacey Nuveman's RBI double through a shifted infield in the bottom of the eighth inning gave top-seeded UCLA a 2-1 victory over eighth-seeded DePaul yesterday and a berth in the championship game of the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City.

The Bruins (62-6) will play Washington (51-17) in today's title game. The Huskies defeated California, 3-0.

VIRGINIA TIES: The Virginia women's rowing team won the second varsity eight and took second in two other races to tie Brown for first place (56 points) in the team competition at the NCAA women's rowing championship in Rancho Cordova, Calif. The Bears took the title based on the NCAA tiebreaker of highest finish in the first varsity eight. It is the first NCAA team title in any sport for Brown. Brown won the varsity eight in 6 minutes 46.89 seconds, with Virginia taking second at 6:50.50. The Cavaliers also took second place in the varsity four race, finishing six seconds behind Washington.

FINALISTS: Virginia guard Adam Hall, signee Travis Watson and Maryland signee Steve Blake are among 16 finalists for the USA Basketball men's junior world championship team. The 12-member team will be announced in July, and will compete July 15-25 in Portugal.
