The Frederick Keys snapped a six-game Class A Carolina League losing streak last night with an extra-inning, 10-9 win over the host Lynchburg Hillcats.

The Keys (25-27) scored a run in the 10th, only to have Lynchburg tie the score in the bottom of the inning. Frederick then scored twice in the 11th and Ken Sims, despite allowing a run, closed out the Hillcats to earn his first save.

Derek Brown improved to 4-2 by striking out three and giving up one hit in two innings of work. Jason Werth (three RBI) and Roberto Rivera both homered for Frederick, and Darnell McDonald and Eddy Garabito each knocked in two runs.

BLUE ROCKS 5, CANNONS 1: Aaron Lineweaver (6-3) gave up one run while striking out four in six innings and Joe Dillon and Jeremy Hill both homered to pace host Wilmington to a Class A Carolina League triumph.

Potomac mustered only six hits -- all singles -- and stranded 11 base runners.

Potomac starter Jason Navarro surrendered four runs on seven hits and fell to 3-6 on the season. David Kim knocked in the Cannons' (19-33) only run in the sixth inning.

ROCK CATS 17, BAYSOX 6: Bowie starter Carlos Medina failed to make it out of the second inning, getting tagged for nine runs and eight hits as the Baysox lost to host New Britain in a Class AA Eastern League game.

New Britain (22-29) tallied 21 hits for the game and scored seven runs in the second inning to jump ahead 10-3.

Tom Hage had three hits and two RBI for Bowie (29-21).
