Former George Mason G Jason Miskiri, who led the Patriots to the Colonial Athletic Association championship and an NCAA tournament berth, was invited to the NBA pre-draft camp in Chicago. NBA general managers, coaches and scouts will watch about 50 top prospects compete in three days of scrimmages and drills beginning Tuesday. The NBA draft will take place June 30 at MCI Center.
IT'S DUDLEY: Chris Dudley will start at center for the Knicks in place of Patrick Ewing when the Eastern Conference finals against the Pacers resumes tonight.
Coach Jeff Van Gundy announced his choice yesterday, the third straight day without a game in the best-of-seven series.
"To me, this is the simplest," Van Gundy said of his decision to start the slow-footed Dudley. "You can get guys in as early as you want, you can change early if that's what you need to happen."
Dudley started 16 games during the regular season, four alongside Ewing and 12 when Ewing was out with Achilles' tendinitis. In the 12 games without Ewing, the Knicks went 7-5.
"When Patrick's been out in the past, that's how we've been," Van Gundy said. "We've had some good wins, some tough losses. We'll start the same, and everyone will stay in their same pattern."
That means Latrell Sprewell, the team's leading scorer, will continue to come off the bench in the first and third quarters.
