Javier de la Hoya earned his ninth win, limiting host Altoona (31-29) to four hits while striking out eight in seven innings to lead the Bowie Baysox to a 5-0 victory over the Curve.
After failing to score a run despite 11 hits on Monday, Bowie (33-25) wasted no time getting ahead last night, scoring four runs in the first. Tom Hage hit a two-out, two-run single and Augie Ojeda followed with a double that scored two runs to put the Baysox ahead.
Mike Bell pitched the final two innings in relief, yielding one hit and a walk.
AVALANCHE 9, KEYS 7: The Avalanche extended its winning streak to a season-high seven games with the come-from-behind Class A Carolina League victory in Salem, Va.
