George Washington--Brad Friedlander signed a letter-of-intent to play golf.

Maryland--Sophomores Mike La Monica and Nate Watkins were chosen for the United States' under-19 men's lacrosse world championship team. They will compete in the 1999 International Lacrosse Foundation under-19 men's world championships July 2-10 in Australia.

Virginia--Senior James Driscoll named to the first-team all-State golf team. Junior Mike Mitchell was named to the second team.

Georgetown Prep--Matt Nace has committed to play football and baseball for Dickinson College.

Potomac School--Named William Hoehn, the school's junior varsity football coach last season, varsity football coach. Hoehn replaces Rob Lee, who resigned from the post but will remain the McLean school's athletic director.

West Springfield--A-MF Heather Ingram signed to play lacrosse at George Mason. MF Courtney Heitz committed to the University of Virginia. A-MF Amy Hawthorne committed to Mary Washington.

W.T. Woodson--G Kereth Withey has committed to play lacrosse at Washington (Md.) College. A-MF Jamie Garafalo has committed to Virginia Weselyan College. D Robin has committed to Longwood.
