Frederick pitchers Rick Bauer and Ken Sims held Myrtle Beach to three hits as the Keys completed the three-game sweep of the Pelicans with a 7-2 win last night at rainy Coastal Federal Field in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Bauer (5-7) struck out six over seven innings to earn the win. He gave up two unearned runs, one in the second inning when Junior Brignac stole home. Sims pitched two hitless innings and struck out one.
Ivanon Coffie and Joey Hammond each had two RBI for the Keys, with Coffie hitting his fifth homer of the season. Hammond tripled and had three hits. Franky Figueroa also doubled and drove in a run for Frederick (9-9).
BAYSOX 3, PHILLIES 2: Luis Matos singled home Augie Ojeda in the top of the 11th inning and Ryan Kohlmeier struck out two in the bottom of the inning to give Bowie the Class AA Eastern League win in Reading, Pa.
Terry Rosenkranz picked up his first win of the season as he pitched a scoreless 10th inning. Kohlmeier notched his 19th save of the year.
Bowie jumped to a 1-0 lead in the first when Matos scored on Rick Short's sacrifice fly. Reading claimed the lead with two unearned runs off starter Josh Towers in the third. The Baysox tied the game in the eighth as Richard Paz scored on Short's single. Short finished the game with two hits; Paz had three.
The Baysox improved to 50-39 and moved to within a half-game of Southern Division-leading Erie.

CANNONS-INDIANS, PPD: Last night's game between Potomac and Kinston scheduled for Pfitzner Stadium was postponed because of rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader at 5 p.m. on Aug. 29.
