Sheryl Swoopes recorded the WNBA's first triple-double with 14 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists last night as the Houston Comets returned home to rout the Detroit Shock, 85-46.

Swoopes, who was removed from the game two assists short of the mark with 9 minutes 23 seconds remaining, was reinserted by Coach Van Chancellor with 6:04 to go. The all-star picked up the assist to give her the triple-double on Amaya Valdemoro's hook shot with 4:15 to go.

Cynthia Cooper led all scorers with 20 points and Tina Thompson recorded her third double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds as the Comets returned home from a season-long five-game road trip. Houston won its fifth in a row at home and third straight.

MERCURY 86, STARZZ 73: Edna Campbell scored 18 of her game-high 21 points in the second half as Phoenix extended its home winning streak to five.
