CBA TO THOMAS?: After five months of negotiations, Isiah Thomas's company finally purchased the Continental Basketball Association, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. The purchase of the nine-team league was believed to be for approximately $10 million.

ON HUNTER: Billy Hunter, NBA players union chief, has been recommended for a six-year contract extension worth about $12 million, two sources told the Charlotte Observer.

ELLIOTT UPDATE: It will be at least two weeks before Spurs F Sean Elliott can undergo a kidney transplant. Elliott's brother has a kidney that may be a match, but can't travel to San Antonio for another week, the Express-News reported.
