Roundup Yolanda Griffith had 21 points and 11 rebounds last night as the Sacramento Monarchs beat the Sting, 68-62, and ended host Charlotte's franchise-record winning streak at six.

Griffith scored four points and Ruthie Bolton-Holiefield added five during a 19-8 run to start the second half and give the Monarchs the lead for good.

Bolton-Holiefield finished with 14 points and Kedra Holland-Corn and Ticha Penicheiro added 10 apiece for Sacramento.

Dawn Staley scored 12 points and Andrea Stinson added 10 for Charlotte.

SHOCK 59, LYNX 56: Sandy Brondello scored 21 points and Val Whiting had 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead host Detroit. The Shock (11-13) came into the game with a five-game losing streak and one last chance to break it before heading off on a three-game West Coast trip.

MIRACLE 70, ROCKERS 62: Taj McWilliams scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead host Orlando. Nykesha Sales added 15 points and Sheri Sam and Shannon Johnson had 12 each for the Miracle (10-13). Cleveland (6-19) was led by Eva Nemcova with 12 points, though she made only five of 17 shots. Rushia Brown added 12 points.
