Cleveland Indians catcher Sandy Alomar, on an injury rehabilitation assignment with Akron, hit a homer, singled and drove in two runs as the Aeros beat the Bowie Baysox, 3-0, last night in an Eastern League game in Akron, Ohio.

Alomar hit a two-run homer to left field in the first inning. He grounded out in the third and singled and scored in the sixth on a single by Todd Betts. Alomar then grounded out in the eighth inning.

Mike Bacsik (11-11) scattered four hits over six innings. Bacsik struck out two and walked four.

Jared Camp pitched the ninth inning for his seventh save.

Brian Falkenborg (3-6) gave up two runs, one earned, on two hits in five innings. He struck out six and walked one.

The Baysox had six hits and left 10 runners on base.

INDIANS 4-3, KEYS 0-1: Host Kinston swept a doubleheader from Frederick, dropping the Keys' record to 30-37 in the second half of the Class A Carolina League season.

Starting pitchers Randy Perez (0-1) and Sean Douglass (5-6) took the loss in each game for Frederick.

PELICANS 14, CANNONS 9: Visiting Myrtle Beach jumped to a 12-run lead, keyed by an eight-run fourth inning, and held on for the victory in front of 5,011 at Pfitzner Stadium.
