Oxon Hill running back Jason Jackson rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns and cornerback David Driggers returned an interception 99 yards for a touchdown as the host Clippers defeated No. 12 Northwestern, 20-14, in a Prince George's 4A league game yesterday.

Oxon Hill Coach Cliff Haskins said the offensive line--Ricky Malloy (5 feet 9, 240 pounds), Matt Powell (6-4 320), Anthony Smith (5-11, 230), Aaron Smalls (6-2, 200) and Alex Smith (5-11, 290)--helped the team rush for 238 total yards. The Clippers (1-0) only attempted two passes.

"Last year our offensive linemen were weak, and they got pushed around," Haskins said. "We had them working out five days a week since last December so they could get stronger. No one is pushing them around now."

Northwestern (1-1) gave up 55 points in the regular season last year, finished 10-2 and advanced to the state semifinal before losing to Suitland.

* EASTERN 29, WILSON 20: Eastern running back Lawrence Wade marked his return to the lineup by rushing for 237 yards and two second-half touchdowns as the Ramblers defeated host Wilson in a D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association game. Wade missed his team's 24-0 loss to No. 10 Gonzaga last week after serving a one-game suspension for fighting in the team's 14-6 season-opening victory over Coolidge.

Wade has rushed for 397 yards in two games this year for Eastern (2-1).

Last season he rushed for 2,092 yards to become the first DCIAA running back to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a season.

Wilson led, 14-13, in the third quarter. But Wade had scoring runs of 64 and 18 yards, and following successful two-point conversions, the Ramblers led 29-13.

Wilson (0-3) was led by quarterback Avery Bowden, who completed 14 of 35 passes for 182 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for another score. Bowden has rushed or thrown for six of Wilson's seven touchdowns this season.

For the season, Bowden has completed 37 of 84 passes for 551 yards and four touchdowns and has rushed for two scores.

* POTOMAC (MD.) 56, EDGEWOOD 26: Potomac quarterback DuJuan Crockett threw for 181 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 93 yards and two more scores as the Braves defeated Edgewood in a non-league game. Crockett also threw for two two-point conversions and intercepted an Edgewood two-point conversion.

Potomac (2-0) running back Anthony Kirby added 134 yards rushing as the Braves came back from a 20-12 halftime deficit to defeat Edgewood (1-1).

* CULPEPER 31, CHANCELLOR 28: Culpeper running back Jermaine Clipp rushed for a career-high 170 yards and Brandon Jones added a career-high three touchdowns to lead Culpeper to a Virginia nondistrict victory over Chancellor (2-1).
