The star goalie on the Johns Hopkins lacrosse team has been charged with raping another student at the school. Brian Carcaterra was charged Monday with second-degree rape and assault. He was being held on $25,000 bail in the Baltimore Booking Center.
Carcaterra, a two-time all-American, met the 21-year-old student and her roommate at a pub Saturday, bought a bottle of wine and suggested they go to the women's apartment to drink it, according to court documents.
Johns Hopkins spokesman Dennis O'Shea said Carcaterra's status on the team was uncertain.
