Teams: Suitland at Eleanor Roosevelt

Kickoff: Eleanor Roosevelt High Stadium, 3 p.m.

Analysis: Roosevelt (5-0 overall, 3-0) and Suitland (4-1, 4-0) meet in a Prince George's 4A matchup to decide sole possession of first place. Roosevelt enters with one of the area's most explosive offenses. The Greenbelt school, led by junior RB Edwin Rios, is averaging an area-best 46.6 points, outscoring opponents, 233-33. Rios has rushed for 734 yards, averaging 11 yards per carry, and 11 touchdowns. Suitland Coach Nick Lynch also said that RB Antoine Beale is a threat in the backfield.

"They can hurt you in a couple of different ways," said Lynch, who graduated from Roosevelt in 1983.

"For us, we have to not turn the football over, make costly mistakes and shorten the field for them," Lynch said. "We can't get into a shootout. They've been too explosive."

Suitland, the co-defending Prince George's 4A champion and two-time 4A state finalist, will keep the ball on the ground in an attempt to work the clock and keep Roosevelt's offense off the field. Senior RB Herschel Walker leads the Rams' running attack, rushing for 609 yards and three touchdowns this season.

Notable: Suitland won last year's game, 6-0. ... Coach Lynch, since taking over for Suitland in '95, is 31-4 ... Roosevelt is off to its best start since '96, when it captured the 4A title and was a state finalist. The Raiders have won 10 straight regular season games.

Admission: $4.
