The NFL fined the Broncos $25,000 yesterday for failing to make a "timely and full disclosure" of the hip injury QB Bubby Brister suffered in practice last Friday before their game against the Raiders. Meantime, since Brister hasn't practiced this week because of the injury, Brian Griese will start Sunday against the Packers.

The injury occurred after the Broncos submitted their official personnel reports on Wednesday and Thursday. The team was obliged under NFL policy to announce it as soon as possible to the media as well as the league and the Raiders, the NFL said in a news release. Instead of notifying the media on Friday or Saturday, the Broncos "simply left messages for the league office and the Raiders on Saturday," NFL Executive Vice President Jeffrey Pash, who imposed the fine, said in the release.

* ARMOUR NEEDS POLISH: The Bengals signed SS JoJuan Armour to their practice squad. Armour, a rookie who played linebacker at Miami (Ohio), was on the Bengals' 53-man roster for two games, playing in one. He was waived Thursday.

* PACKERS LOSS: Packers WR Jahine Arnold is likely out for the season after slightly tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee at practice Thursday. Arnold will have more tests before the Packers decide whether to put him on injured reserve. He has not been active for a game this season.
